Jury Definition

A jury is a group of persons who have sworn to decide the facts of a case. During a trial, the jury listens to the evidence, assesses what facts are established, and then draws inferences to form their verdict or judgment. The right to be tried by a jury of your peers was so vital to the founding fathers that it was written into the highest law of the land. The right to a jury trial is contained in the Bill of Rights. If the jury is not satisfied that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, they must find them not guilty.
