Alibi Definition
An alibi is a legal defense whereby the defendant claims they are innocent because they were somewhere other than the crime scene. Michigan requires a defendant to give advice notice of an alibi defense to the government, including the location of the alibi and the identity of witnesses who might testify in support of the alibi defense.
