MCL 257.625. Operating While Intoxicated by Alcohol and/or a Controlled Substance. This is also commonly referred to as DUI. A person, whether licensed or not, shall not operate a vehicle upon a highway or place generally accessible to motor vehicle if the person is intoxicated. “Operating while intoxicated” means either (1) under the influence of alcoholic liquor, a controlled substance, or other other intoxicating substance, or (2) having a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 or more.
